With 2021 just on the horizon, we’re sure you’ll agree that this past year was a tough one.
And while it is easy to focus on the negatives, there were also plenty of positive moments to embrace. So rather than say goodbye to 2020 with good riddance, we are focusing on the positives with the hope that it continues into the future.
What Has Kept Us Smiling:
First, the spring state-wide lockdown put our work at the office on pause as a means to control the spread of the virus.
Although closing our doors was difficult to do, it was a time when we realized the value in slowing down and spending quality time with our loved ones.
Second, during lockdown, many amazing cafés, restaurants, and independent businesses closed, and we had to get by without them.
While this was sad to see, it made us appreciate how important these places are to our livelihoods – and we have found a new sense of community spirit as we aim to support their future success.
Finally, the introduction of face masks meant that many people became aware of their undiagnosed hearing loss, as they couldn’t communicate easily without lip reading.
This revelation resulted in the team helping more people than ever to find hearing care and positive solutions.
It’s been a pleasure to care for all of our patients this year. Everyone at Audiology Associates wishes you a happy holiday season and an amazing 2021!

This is Appa. He is named after a character from Avatar: The Last Airbender. He is 8 months old and we got him during quarantine. He is the best pup and is always using his nose and ears to track animals in the backyard.” – Dr. Richards
Struggling for a Holiday Gift?
Spending time with loved ones is the best part of the holiday season. But we have some great gift options for those with a hearing loss that are bound to warm their hearts as well.
We highly recommend a TV streamer or a remote mic to ensure movie dialogue and conversations in noisy environments aren’t missed. Or perhaps an amplified telephone is ideal for those who prefer to still use a landline phone. TV Ears are a great option if your loved one doesn’t wear hearing aids.

Who Am I?
It’s not an understatement to say that the Audiologist Associates team is fond of holiday games.
And one that we love is “Who am I,” where you guess the name of a famous person based on several clues.
So we decided to create our own (virtual) version of the game to play with you this year! We have prepared 5 questions below, and all you have to do is identify who the person is!
1) I was born on November 19, 1962, in Los Angeles, California.
2) My first television show was in 1968 and it was called Mayberry R.F.D. Soon after, I appeared in a number of Disney films beginning with Napoleon and Samantha (1972).
3) My big breakthrough into adult roles was my performance in The Accused in 1988. I won an Academy Award and Golden Globe for Best Actress for this performance.
4) I have worked with many famous actors including Anthony Hopkins, Liam Neeson, and Matthew McConaughey … just to name a few.
