Kayla Volpe, Au.D.
Dr. Volpe grew up in Westminster, Maryland, and received her undergraduate degree in speech-language pathology/audiology from Towson University.
She received her clinical doctorate in audiology (Au.D.) from the University of Pittsburg and then went on to receive the American Academy of Audiology Continued Achievement Scholarship of 2018.
The basis of her dissertation involved characterizing hearing abilities in individuals with Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy (FSHD) and challenged her to seek new ways of helping patients.
Dr. Volpe is an extremely valued member of the team and her determination to help patients and provide long-lasting relationships is a true reflection of her noble character. Bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience, her role involves determining patients’ communications difficulties and needs and providing effective treatment that supports them every step of the way.
She is currently a fellow member of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology and the Maryland Academy of Audiology. A standout moment for Dr. Volpe at Audiology Associates was working alongside a patient with balance difficulties.
“We determined that she had a unilateral vestibular weakness and would benefit from vestibular therapy.
“She was so happy to finally have a diagnosis and started therapy. It was such a joy to work with her and help her during a really difficult time in her life.”
Aside from work, Dr. Volpe loves interior design, coffee of any kind, and trying new healthy recipes with her husband. Eager to help others, she also helps women to achieve their fitness goals, which she finds both fun and rewarding!
