Dr. Mikayla Abrams

My husband Nate had gotten a hearing aid and it wasn't functioning properly. We saw Dr. Abrams and she helped us solve the issues. She was persistent as we tried various things and she worked closely with the ENT specialist to ensure care was coordinated. When Nate got a second hearing aid, she weighed the benefits of several options with us and found a workable solution. Dr. Abrams is especially good at educating you about the products and having you demonstrate that you know how to use your hearing aid and supplies before you leave the office. Dr. Abrams is professional and friendly. Ester Bae, who works with Dr. Abrams, is very friendly and helpful. I recommend Audiology Associates highly.

Received my new hearing aids this morning, 8/11. Dr. Abrams was simply outstanding - professional to the max. She took plenty of time to ensure the fit was ok and to set up my phone interface. I found the staff at AA extremely professional, caring and methodical. Dr. Abrams takes the time necessary to perform thorough testing as well as explain in detail her findings along with a treatment schedule. Esther's support in the process is priceless. I can not say enough wonderful things about this practice. My Mom has struggled for years with hearing loss and she knew it was time for hearing aids. From the moment I set up her appointment, we both have been welcomed and most of all we have felt important. Angie at the front desk is pure delight. She is so friendly and made us feel right at home. Dr Abrams is the absolute best. She really took her time with my Mom and was so sweet and patient! We HIGHLY recommend this practice.

I've been a patient of Audiology Associates since 2007. I'm currently under Dr. Mikayla Abrams care at the Wilkens Ave office. Dr. Abrams always takes the time to discuss any hearing changes I may have noticed, any health changes, and my general wellbeing as a person. Dr. Abrams works to tune and achieve the best balance of hearing with my (not particularly new) hearing aides. She is fantastic! In addition, Patient Care Coordinator, Angie Strouse, keeps all of the office issues well under control. She is the perfect compliment to Dr. Abrams.

I would like to highly recommend Audiology Associates, and Dr Abrams and Angie at the Wilkins office. I first went there for an evaluation 24 years ago, I think from Dr Godfrey, back then. Though I didn't get hearing aids at the time, the audiogram I got has been valuable as a baseline for more recent troubles. Dr Abrams did a new audiogram, and it was pretty clear I now needed hearing aids. I waffled for quite a while over which plan to choose. In the end I got the "connected treament plan". This is expensive but includes three years of support. The support is key. So far I've had the initial fitting and the first follow-up, two weeks later. Dr Abrams has been patient and supportive, LISTENS to my need and concerns, and used that as a staring point for the fitting. She chose a device from Signia with three different music settings--for performers, live music, and recorded music. These are generally similar, but there are some differences. Mainly, I took three music options as a sign that Signia was making a serious effort at making things work for music. There is also a general purpose mode which is for voice, and works very well for for that. The voice and music modes are quite different--voice doesn't work well for music, but conversation is often OK in the music modes. So in conclusion, I am new to hearing aids, and still getting used to things, but I'm glad I did this.

Doctor Abrams is terrific, she spends time to help you with any issues that you may have. If you’re looking for an audiologist she’s the one.

I was referred to Audiology Associates by my primary care physician as I finally admitted to her that I was having trouble hearing others and participating in group activities. Dr. Abrams at AA was very thorough in testing my hearing and in explaining the hearing loss. She explained the range of hearing aid options and what each would do. I choose a pair of hearing aids that I have been wearing for about 5 weeks and I could not be happier with the devices and with the follow up care provided by Dr. Abrams. Dr. Abrams' scheduler, Ester Bae, has also been delightful to work with.

There was a two month wait-list, but worth it! In the interim, I received a card in the mail from another company offering a 'free exam". I (foolishly) went in and was very uncomfortable with the hard sell to buy the top of the line hearing aids and to finance it using CARE credit. My appointment with Dr. Abrams was completely different. Instead of pressuring me, she suggested a brief trial period to see if the hearing aids even work for me. So glad I waited.

I’m pleased to share my recent experience improving my hearing loss with hearing aids obtained through the Wilkens Avenue Audiology Associates office – positive improvement results and a positive client experience! After finally accepting my hearing loss, I did a little research and spoke with friends who use hearing aids. The one consistent recommendation I got was to work with a good Audiologist to achieve good results. I believe I've found that good Audiologist in Dr. Mikayla Abrams. Dr. Abrams, in my experience, is proficient in both the medical and technical knowledge needed to diagnose and compensate for hearing loss. She’s very thorough and knowledgeable - I've asked a lot of questions and she’s been able to answer every one without once having to say that she needed to look up the answer and would get back to me. She acts as both a medical professional caregiver and a client advocate, NOT a hearing aid salesperson. During the adjustment period, I did upgrade my initial choice of hearing aids to gain a bit more Bluetooth functionality and a longer care plan period. Dr. Abrams was most accommodating and helpful in facilitating the upgrade. Completing the team at the Wilkens Avenue office is the Patient Care Coordinator Sharon Shaffer, who’s been both flawless at handling the administrative details and associated paperwork, and very accommodating in scheduling (and rescheduling at client request) appointments. I typically get a text message confirming my next appointment before leaving the parking lot after my current appointment! Bottom line: I'm not happy about my hearing loss (who would be?), but I am (5*) happy with the Wilkens Avenue Audiology Associates team and the results they’ve achieved with my Care Plan choices!

My name is Talmadge Fincher, and I like to share the wonderful experience i had with Wilken's Audiology Associates. I was referred to Dr. Mikayla Abrams, and Ms. Angie Strouse at Wilkens Audiology Associates through DORS (Department of Rehabilitation Services. I must tell you Dr. Mikayla Abrams went above and beyond in giving attention to my hearing needs. Dr. Abrams was extremely professional, and listened to my concerns. Dr. Mikayla Abrams probably spent and invested more time with me as a patient than what she normally does. Later after my appointment with Dr. Abrams I needed further assistance with scheduling an appointment for a Cochlear Implant. This had to be done by phone. Because of my limited ability to hear on the phone Ms. Angie Strouse who assist Dr. Abrams came to the rescue. I must share with you Ms. Angie Strouse proved to be a lifesaver in word and deed. Ms. Strouse made phone calls in my behalf outside of an appointment. In other words, Ms. Angie Strouse invested with me as a client, and patient beyond normal. It would have been difficult, and challenging for me to do this on my own. Like Dr. Abrams, Ms. Angie Strouse went above and beyond in exceeding my expectations. I am fortunate, forever grateful, and indebted to them both. Thus, I rate Wilkens Audiology Associates beyond a five star.

I recently worked with Dr. Mikayla Abrams at the Wilkens Ave office of Audiology Associates on getting my first pair of hearing aids. Through testing and diagnostics, a comprehensive report, follow-up session to answer my questions, then selection/fitting, and a full review of my new devices, I can’t speak highly enough about her professionalism. Making this transition in my life came so much easier through her strong support and warm patient care. And an equal acknowledgment of the office administrator, Angie, who from first contact and consistently thereafter was excellent in keeping me informed on appointments, expectations related to process and the like. Both individuals are outstanding professionals.

Amazing new technology in these hearing aids. I am totally deaf in the left ear and impaired in the right. I can hear perfectly well. The sound is phenomenal and the Bluetooth options are really nice. The audiologist, Dr. Abrams did a thorough evaluation and was very good at giving instructions on using the hearing aids. Very happy with them.

I was seen the very next day and the hearing aid was repaired in minutes at a minimal cost by Mikayla Abrams and her very capable staff. This is a top notch practice.
